Ron was a banker from 1970 to 1986 and worked in Montreal, St. John's, Newfoundland and in 1975 was transferred to Vancouver. He became a resident of North Delta, B.C. where, along with his wife Jeanne, they raised their two sons Glenn and Steven.

Ron was active in minor league soccer and baseball as well as the scouting movement for many years. He currently enjoys jogging, playing cricket and umpiring and is a member of the Richmond Cricket Club.

In 1986, Ron became a Realtor and has received many awards and recognition from both RE/MAX and the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board, including the coveted RE/MAX Hall of Fame Award for serving his many satisfied clients over the years.:
